For those of you unfamilar with Rabbit Hollow Prims, I began a long while ago... 1989 to be exact. I used to make crafts with my mother who sold at shows in Pennsylvania and Ohio and she would pay me for helping her. I stayed away from dollmaking for awhile and now I am back to making dolls from patterns and recently designing and selling my own dolls that are OOAK. My techniques, style, product & designs have changed alot over the years, but what has remained ever constant is producing folk-art that is truly unique, original, and sometimes OOAK (one-of-a-kind).
I have been an artist in the Hope Mills, NC community for 5 years. I have been a Science teacher for groups of middle school kids, a Science lab expert teacher in the afterschool community school programs for kids ages 11-14.
I often use a distressing technique with acrylic paints and then sanding & baking for a truly vintage and worn out look and rich leathery patina. All dolls are made to last and wear throughout the years to come.
The love of antiques & dolls has certainly been a huge influence here at Rabbit Hollow Prims over the past 17 years! I love what I do, and here is a little insight into my magical world. |

Bunny Man
Up for your consideration is Bunny Man. He is OOAK and sooo sweet. He is made from stained muslin and roughly measures 20 inches tall. His face is all hand-sculpted with plastic eyes and hand-painted mouth. He is considered a stump doll and is weighted for balance. He has cute hands that are wired and poseable and feet with painted toenails and fingernails. He wears a bunny costume complete with tail and ears. He carries a basket full of Easter eggs in his hand. How sweet he is and yes One of A Kind......

OOAK Cat Dancer
This cute Cat was inspired from the Broadway musical. Her face is all hand-painted with plastic cat eyes. She is made from a cheetah doe suede material. She roughly measures 30 inches tall. Her arms and legs have been tied off for posing. She would make the puurrrfeeecttt gift for a cat lover or a lover of Broadway. She is a OOAK Design

OOAK Gumnut Elf
This is a OOAK Gumnut Elf. He is made from a batik cloth and has a muslin face.his face has 2 black plastic eyes and then hand painted features. His face is all soft sculpted. His fingers and toes are wired and bendable for posing. His arms and legs move but he does stay in a seated position. On his fingers and toes are jeweled nails. His hair is Spanish moss, his hat is made from black satin. His wings are a black material with small white polka dots. He would look awesome in a prim home or a fairy collection. He is a OOAK design......

Primitive Skeleton Keys Set
THESE WHIMSICAL KEYS ARE MADE FROM MUSLIN THAT I HAVE GRUNGED, PAINTED, BAKED AND GRUNGED SOME MORE. THEY MEASURE APPROX. 10 1/4-10 3/4" LONG. THEY HAVE PAINTED FACIAL (SKULL) FEATURES: EYE SOCKETS, NOSE HOLE AND A MOUTH FULL OF JAGGED TEETH.THE KEY SHANKS ARE PAINTED A BLACK/BROWN AND HAVE DIFFERENT DESIGNS.I HAVE ATTACHED THEM TO HEAVY WIRE IN THE SHAPE OF A KEYRING. GREAT FOR HANGING ON A DOORKNOB, PEG ETC. ETC.ETC.....FROM TOP TO BOTTOM OF CENTER KEY, IT MEASURES APPROX. 17 inches. YOU ARE LOOKING AT A SET OF 5 SKULLETON KEYS LIKE THE ONES IN THE PHOTO. MAY DIFFER SLIGHTLY.

April Showers Bring May Flowers Prim Umbrella
Up for your consideration today is a primitive April Showers Brings May Flowers Umbrella. It roughly measures 20 inches tall. It has been baked, stained, sanded & painted for the ole yester-year look. Each flower was hand-made and hand-painted and sanded seperately. Then each flower was attached to a "painted flower stick." The umbrella was also hand-painted and sanded seperately. To finish it off, I gave the umbrella 3 crystal-like raindrops on the front and a cute grubby painted bumblebee in the center. This umbrella hangs by its handle.
